My life has not been extraordinary, although it has been exciting if only to myself. I grew up in small town USA with a father who worked 60 hours a week as a lab technician, and a mother who taught 3rd grade at the elementary school. I spent the hours daydreaming about what kind of life I might have one day. As the years passed by, I married my sweet husband and had three beautiful children. I embraced the life that I was living and focused on my family. The children are mostly grown now, and I find myself again daydreaming about what the future might hold for me.

Gordon B. Hinkley stated, "The major work of the world is not done by geniuses. It is done by ordinary people, with balance in their lives, who have learned to work in an extraordinary manner." This quote brings comfort to my soul. I know that I am not a genius, but I can have balance in my life, and I can work in an extraordinary manner. I seek to take care of myself and my relationship with Heavenly Father first and foremost. Following that relationship, I deeply desire to care for my family, emotionally as well as physically. Finally, I look to care for those around me. This bring me great balance and gives me to drive and ability to accomplish anything I set my mind to do and work in an extraordinary manner.

In Matthew chapter 6 verse 33, it states, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." As I first focus on the building up the kingdom of God, I know that everything will work out. The "steppingstones" for my next move will be revealed and I will be able to take steps forward with perfect faith in God's plan for me.

Change the world.

How am I going to change the world? It seems like a huge idea that might appear unrealistic, and some might say childish! I do not believe that, not for one moment. I have been blessed to be surrounded by some of the most intelligent and successful people including engineers, business leaders, and political powerhouses. Each of them has a unique story, but they have many things in common. Successful people are following in the footsteps of other successful people. Each of my friends has someone who inspired and encouraged them. They will share story after story about this person or a few people that encouraged them and shared the secret to their success as well as their failures. Money is an important part of success, but not the most important. What I consider to be successful does not always include how big their bank account is. Finisher

  Thomas S. Monson shared his thoughts about people who finish what they start in an article titled, “ Finishers Wanted ”. I must admit that sometimes I am worn out by the time it comes to the end of a project or right now when it comes to the end of my college classes. I am often rushing to finish and look forward to my break. The last few semesters I have really tried to focus on enjoying the learning process more and take my time as I study the material.
