Change the world.

How am I going to change the world? It seems like a huge idea that might appear unrealistic, and some might say childish! I do not believe that, not for one moment. I have been blessed to be surrounded by some of the most intelligent and successful people including engineers, business leaders, and political powerhouses. Each of them has a unique story, but they have many things in common.

Successful people are following in the footsteps of other successful people. Each of my friends has someone who inspired and encouraged them. They will share story after story about this person or a few people that encouraged them and shared the secret to their success as well as their failures.

Money is an important part of success, but not the most important. What I consider to be successful does not always include how big their bank account is. Caring for their families is the main priority for the successful people that I know. That would include setting a good ethical and moral example and staying out of situations that would compromise their ability to care for their family. This often means that they are not the most lucrative, but they are the most trusted in their field.

“It’s not about you, it’s all about you.” Each of my friends understands that they will change the world, at least the one that they live in! They will have a positive and lasting impact on those around them and they will make a huge difference in the lives of their families. They are intentional in all they do and see each situation through with their best self.

As I have gotten older, I have realized that I do not have to put limits on myself! I really can achieve my dreams and I can do it in a way that does not compromise who I am as a daughter of God! In fact, living my life in harmony with God propels me further than I could have ever thought possible!

Finisher

  Thomas S. Monson shared his thoughts about people who finish what they start in an article titled, “ Finishers Wanted ”. I must admit that sometimes I am worn out by the time it comes to the end of a project or right now when it comes to the end of my college classes. I am often rushing to finish and look forward to my break. The last few semesters I have really tried to focus on enjoying the learning process more and take my time as I study the material.
