Do your best, and then walk by faith.
My husband and I have always been planners. While Derek worked on his Associates degree at the community college, we would sit and plan our next move. The plan was for him to get his PhD in Engineering. We had three littles at home and Derek worked a full-time job while going to school. We needed to make some changes if he was going to be able to accomplish his dream. We looked at many different options and ultimately sold our house and moved to a small college town where housing was much less expensive and after many long poor years, Derek accomplished his dream!
This is an example of a time that we could have not done anything because we did not know everything! We had no idea where he would work when he was done, but we had some ideas. We did not know if there would be a substantial income, but we hoped there would be. We took the time to look at everything we could possibly understand about a prospect and then we had to have faith to move forward. A times it has been uncomfortable and difficult but as we have involved the Lord, we often feel that reassurance that everything will be alright.
As I move forward with my career, I am excited and yet cautious. As I look at opportunities, I will take the time to make my best guess, analyze and act! Just as we did for Derek and his career. I will not know every aspect of the journey, but I will plan to the best of my knowledge. If I don’t have that knowledge, I will gain it. I will analyze the opportunities and then act. Faith is a BIG part of this life, and I believe that God expects us to do our part and then have faith and walk by faith. Doing our part means that we make our best hypothesis, analyze the situation, and then act!
